Strike Action - School Closure   Jul 2008   It has now been confirmed that there will be a strike by members of Unison on 16th and 17th July next week. Having assessed the situation with regard to the operation of this school and the health and safety of staff and students, I write to advise you that unless the strike is called off, Bemrose Community School will be closed completely to pupils and staff on Wednesday July 16th.
         
June Start Arrangments   May 2008   I am writing to you now ahead of our usual end of half term newsletter, to remind you of the arrangements for our June start to the new timetable after half term. As you know, all students will start their new timetables on June 2nd and will move up to the next year (Year 7 become Year 8, Year 8 become Year 9 etc).
         
April 2008 SATs - English, Mathematics and Science   April 2008   During the week beginning May 6th, your daughter / son will be taking their SATs examinations in English, mathematics and science. This will usually involve an examination in the morning and another in the afternoon.
         
September 2007 Lunchtime Arrangements   July 2007   The school lunchtime is only 40 minutes long. On the reverse of this letter is the shape of the school day. With this in mind we advise that students should not leave the premises at lunchtime. Applications will not be granted until we have confirmed this with you by a follow up phone call
         
Uniform Reminder   June 2007   Now that the weather has warmed up a little, I have become slightly concerned that some of our students are using this as a reason to persuade you that our uniform policy has relaxed and that they are allowed to wear, for example, tiny shirt, leggings with short skirts, trainers, open shirts with no tie.
         
June 2007 Start   May 2007   I am sure your son or daughter will have already told you about our plan to move to the new year’s timetable when we come back to school after the half term holiday. This letter is to provide more formal communication of what is happening.
